PhD
In 2007, Jeremy completed a PhD at Birmingham Conservatoire/Birmingham City University (working with Dr Peter Johnson and Dr Christopher Dingle), exploring Context, Aesthetics and Interpretation in the Organ Music of Marcel Dupré. As there is an absence of critical writing on the music of Dupré, despite its considerable but often-unacknowledged importance for the evolution of the organ and its music in the twentieth century, his thesis aimed to set Dupré's music in an historical and stylistic context and address a number of analytical and interpretative issues.
